Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Took car off truck from east coast. Brakes were horrible. 40K miles Manual No track time. Mechanic said they were rusty from sitting with little use for 2 years. Rotors were only 1/16" lip. Pads 20% New rotors and pads. Good stuff. NO DIFFERENCE. I can slam brakes on so hard ABS triggers and the cars comes SLOWLY to a stop. Like it has no grabbing power. Many many Porsches over 45 years but never a problem like this. Any ideas. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Replace brake line hoses, work calipers back and forth by hand and then flush with new fluid. Sounds like the calipers are stuck or maybe seized. If you can't work them in and out then you may have to rebuild them. These brakes should be very good.

POST 3Original post

tony is correct. the calipers are not fully engaging.
