Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, my 04 C4S alarm is going off in interior when I turn the car on. It will start again when Im driving and do its whole spiel and doesnt stop. I detached the battery and left it off for 20 mins but didnt help. I also tried turning the key in the lock 5 times while holding the lock button but it didnt fix it. I attached a vid for when I put the key in the ignition. Also my ODB2 reader isnt reading any codes. Any idea what the issue is?

Your reader is not reading the alarm modual. U need a better scanner or a piwis2 or 3. U can pull the plug in the alarm horn. Its under the driverside plastkc panel in the frunk next to the nrakr push rod mechanism.

No it will silence the alarm.... not sure if u can reset it without finding the fault.

POST 5Original post

That is not the car alarm.......that is a hidden radar detector like a K-40 or something..... It's probably an old version and needs to be removed,,, or updated to a newer version..

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Holy **** thats mind blowing. Ill take the frunk plastics off tomorrow or Tuesday and give you an update on my findings.

POST 8Original post

You can save yourself the hassle if you post a photo of the front end and the windshield. Radar detectors require a clear line of sight to work properly. Same deal with laser jammers.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Picture attached. Ive removed a few connectors from the terminals but sadly the beeping persists. I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the CTEK or the battery is low. Not sure. Not sure what to look for tbh.

POST 10Original post

It might be tapped to an accessory power supply and not the battery because it only comes on when the ignition is turned on. Look at the fusebox or the overhead console lighting for a tap.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh ok, Ill try that, when you say tap what do you refer to?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Awesome, let me take a look on Sunday and early next week. Will revert when I dig into it. Thinking it might be a fuse or something.
