I started the car yesterday, it has a good strong battery replaced few months ago btw, it turned over as normal then immediately cut out.

I have read about the clutch switch but not sure that's the issue ( the " press clutch " message does not come up with pedal down as in other threads ) and when you turn the key sharply with clutch down, you only for a moment, sense the starter trying to engage, you dont get that momentary surge of something when you try to start without pressing clutch as I did to test the theory that might be switch.

Hi, my manual 991.1 developed sudden problem. I started the car yesterday, it has a good strong battery replaced few months ago btw, it turned over as normal then immediately cut out. Now nothing when you turn the key, no clicking , silence , all instruments, window operation etc and lights working fine so no suggestion that its a battery issue and the meter on dash showing 12v. I have read about the clutch switch but not sure that's the issue ( the " press clutch " message does not come up with pedal down as in other threads ) and when you turn the key sharply with clutch down, you only for a moment, sense the starter trying to engage, you dont get that momentary surge of something when you try to start without pressing clutch as I did to test the theory that might be switch. I'm therefore thinking starter motor ? ..Any suggestions
