Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently had the 3rd radiator installed with my GT3 bumper. The proper amount of coolant was added. The light on the right side of the temp gauge now flashes even when the needle is reading dead in the middle. This morning, shortly after leaving my house to go to work, it even began flashing before the needle got to 180, which I hadn't seen before. Should I be worried? I haven't seen any coolant pools under the car or anything. What could be the problem?

POST 2Original post

Not sure if the term dates my netizenship, but, RTFM:

Yep, fair enough. I understand that it's a "high temp" indicator, but if the dial is not reading high, and it even came on before the engine got up to full operating temp this morning, what gives? Just curious if anyone else experienced this and knew the source of the problem.

POST 4Original post

The light will flash if there isn't enough coolant. Since you just had work done to add a radiator, it looks like whoever put in the fluid, didn't do a vacuum fill and there is air in there somewhere. If so, you sure don't want to drive it. Have it vacuum filled or buy yourself the tool and do it yourself. It isn't hard to do.

Read the entire page. Your light is blinking.

POST 6Original post

Check the coolant level in the tank. It will be low (unless you also have the UAOS?). The UAOS signals the same slow flash as low coolant. If the coolant is low, refill it and lift the wire bail on the tank. Drive it with the bail lifted. Repeat, driving, checking when cool, refill, drive, cool, check. If you don't have the UAOS - you are simply low on coolant - or the coolant level sensor is failing. -Tom
