Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

All doable - I used my 3/8" drive set with the addition of a short 2" extension which made it easy.

They can be changed without this but as mentioned a lot is by touch and i would strongly urge you to have safety goggles on ..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I intend to change the plugs soon and would appreciate any tips!
Looks very awkward and limited space to get tools in or withdraw plugs.
Is it worth removing the exhausts? I have had these off before so it wouldn't be difficult to do as I have made sure everything is accessible and easily demountable.
I know deMort could do this in his sleep but I'm a mere amateur lying on a cold concrete floor!
Any guidance welcome! ( I know, take it to the nearest specialist! But I like a challenge)
I have the same cold garage floor
All doable - I used my 3/8" drive set with the addition of a short 2" extension which made it easy. Just heat shields and coils packs to remove.
Ian
I removed the back boxes and bumper when I did my plugs and coils, if I were to do it again of leave the bumper on, removing the exhaust gives plenty of room to do the work.
It could be done with the boxes in place, but, if like me you need to get a drill in to remove a snapped bolt the exhausts definitely need to come off.
It really is not a difficult job as long as the coil pack bolts play ball.
Take your heat shields off.......wizz them in the bin, then just remove the coil packs and undo the plugs. 40 minute job to change the lot once you ditch the waste of time and weight heat shields.
On a ramp .. i tend to do a lot of it by touch , but as i've done a few of these it's easy enough .. .. on the floor and jacked up .. i don't envy anyone doing it like this .. it's not an easy job this way so you have my sympathies ... i would struggle to be honest .
Things like removing the silencers .. its to give you better access and make your life easier .. it's what i do every day .. why struggle , so if you know they will come off then its an option .
They can be changed without this but as mentioned a lot is by touch and i would strongly urge you to have safety goggles on .. rust in an eye .. or just dirt when looking up trying to do this job is very unpleasant !!! I Know !!
Have done this recently and its a fiddle for the 2 rearward cylinders on either side.
If you have big hands then its a pain, some of it by feel as well. Its easy enough just takes a little time for those two. Other 4 I found easy enough.
