Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Seems even more depressing that they know the original is dodgy (hence revising it) and yet still not covering it on a car thats had full OPC service etc.
The tilt alarm sensor on my 2000 Carrera 2 is faulty and Porsche want over £400 to supply & fit. Unless i double lock the car, the alarm goes off the whole time.
Oddly its not covered by the Porsche warranty, even though it claims to cover the alarm. Seems kinda weird when its hardly a consumable or wear and tear item. Maybe even the Porsche warranties are only good for the major events like engine failure.
A previous thread mentions Porscheapart as a place to get 2nd hand parts....is there a contact number as i couldnt find one
Alternatively, anyone stripped a car for racing, and have a sensor in the garage ?
My first experience with Porsche warranty. Not a good one !!

My experience with OPC warranty has been similar to yours, ie. doesn't seem to cover anything!!!
Still, I hope that it will cover the major items.
Cheers,

On your car the tilt sensor is located to the right of the battery (as you look at it). They fill up with water in that location, so for the facelift in 2002 they fitted a different sensor under the passenger seat.
The old sensors aren't available any more, so you have to do some rewiring to fit a new one in the new location. To be honest £400 isn't too horrendous for an OPC to do the job, as the sensor is over £150, plus a wiring loom, mounting bracket, etc., and you have to take the seat out to do the job.
If you want to DIY, drop me an email and I'll send you some instructions.
thanks for the feedback. Seems even more depressing that they know the original is dodgy (hence revising it) and yet still not covering it on a car thats had full OPC service etc. Oh well....maybe i will get my
insurance
monies worth if ever the worst happens. I saw some threads back in last year of writing to Porsche, but not sure how successful that would be
cheers
