Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi again, update on the exhaust etc.I now have my car back after
Powermax changed the oxygen sensor on cyl bank 2.I took the car down to Buckingham on Fri (last job of the day 1/2 hr lab) only to find the
new part was incorrect, a phone call was made and the correct part could be delivered and fitted Sat a.m
I left the car there whilst they offered
a courtesy car to get me home and they could fit to a cold exhaust the
next day.I then heard a big rumble outside and was given the keys to
a Monaro ! ! ! Very black and very loud ! this is our courtesy car said
Andy, 5.7 ltr V 8 Wortec Exhaust and boy did it go,in a straight line,
just as you would expect from an aussie, loud, brash, unruly and to be
honest good fun for 24 hrs.
With my own car I have noticed that the
engine will not rev beyond 4000 rpm when the car is stationary ?
I dont recall it not doing so before. As the revs are built up it begins
to sound like its straining to rev any higher but on the road under load
the car will easily pull to the redline or upchange on Tip auto.
has anyone have an idea as to what it
may be or why would it be anything to do with less back pressure
in the exhaust system ? I,m puzzled.
The guys at Promax could not have done more to fix the problem and did the sensor free of charge for all
the messing about the previous day. 5 ***** I know where my next
oil service will be done.Cheers :?
seem to remember somthing in the manual about the engine management preventing you over reving the engine at standstill(with no load) dont have manual at moment (car in garage) sombody may correct me!
Hello yes the tiptronic transmissions do that on the later style gearboxes 02 on wards...
It is something to do with protecting the torque convertor as its not loaded up...or gearbox.
Mike
Hello,Thanks for the confirmation on the tiptronic limiting the
revs.Could not find any info in the owners man on this Wed eve.
Car does rev fully and sounds great on acceleration
beyond 3500 rpm.
Will drive it in the morning without any worries now,
except the "Safety Partnership Vans,"still out around here (Evesham)
at 8.40 !!!!!!!!! tonight !!!!!!!!!
