I personally wouldnt run the two top tyres for that exact reason.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
I have recently had fitted to the car a complete set of N1 Michelin Pilot Sport RIBs.
Basically they were fitted after a miscommunication (I actually asked for PS2s - but by the time they were installed, I had little choice but to accept them, as a matching set of N rated PS2s were going to take some time).
Has anyone any experience of the above? So far, they feel a little more planted than the Pirellis that were taken off, but I am curious to know how much difference between these and the PS2s
Thanks in advance!
JJ
I've not driven the 2s on a Porsche, only an M3, so it's not such a fair comparisson, but I thought the PS1s had a better feel of what is going on underneath you
PS1 & PS2 are quite different. The PS2 is assymetrical, the PS1 directional. Different "philosophy" of tread pattern/design. The PS2 is arguably the better compromise between wet & dry weather performance. From what I can glean from the marketing blurb a PS2 may be a slighty grippier dry tyre. Altough I have heard of folks having PS1 up front because of superior water dispersion and PS2 on the rear!
Bizarrely it gets more complicated than that!
The PS Ribs are not actually anything like either the PS1s or the PS2s. They have a different tread pattern again.
The link below shows you what the PS Rib looks like, and is very restricted in tyre sizes offered (namely porsche sizes only)

The PS1's look like this...

The PS2's look like this...

Confused yet? I was!

That was my kneejerk reaction, I must admit, though MIchelin themselves have released little or no information on the RIB, and I must admit, they are at least a good deal better than the Pirellis that came off.
I will take the car to the Nurburgring in Oct, and that will put them to the test!
JJ
Will do
So far, my leaderboard for tyres based on experience of my own car, and compared to others with the same car is as follows - top = best!
Dry...
Michelin Pilot Sport Cups
Toyo R888s (not available in N rating)
Michelin PS2s
Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico
Wet
Michelin PS2s
Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico
Toyo R88s
Michelin Pilot Sport Cups
The above is my opinion - open to debate if any disagree with me!
Ok this is meant to sound Facetous (speelcheck) but............
How do you decide on which one?
Its the 13th August and it should be a beautiful summers day ... ok torrential rain looking out of the window!!
So ... The Michelin PS2's seem the obvious all year choice? Unless you have 2 sets of wheels to carry round!!
Typical as I run Michelin Pilots!! grrrrrrrrr
The list is really a statement of ability in given conditions.
I would tend to agree, though the PS Ribs that I have are yet to be scored against the PS2s. They so far appear to be a superior wet tyre than the PS2s.
I guess it is all about compromise. I personally wouldnt run the two top tyres for that exact reason. But this doesnt detract from the ability of the dry weather spcialist tyres. Every time I go to the ring, I always wish I had plumped for them when it is dry!
