Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I recall seeing pictures of such a kit installed (not on a Porsche) and it looked very OEM to me.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I do not have any parking sensors which I find unusual! I wanted to know if anyone has had any put in and any advice on which are the best and easiest to install ? Thanks

POST 3Original post

:blue-no: if you have to, then a standard retrio-fit install off the rear reversing light wiring can be done, but it aint pretty

POST 4Original post

It's not possible to have the official Porsche parkassist retro-fitted, but there's loads of after market options. Ian Bannings fitted mine (in Guildford), which is where the local OPC takes them. Halfords also do an aftermarket install as well. Not terrible expensive, about £300 IIRC....probably less now.

POST 5Original post

with a GT3 kit? :?: Thinking it must be a C4 with a GT3 kit Shaz? I really don't like the look of the sensors on the pre-facelift 996's... Taran :thumb:

POST 6Original post

Bum warts? Noooo! Costco do a reversing camera kit for not much £££ - fits below the rear number plate.

POST 7Original post

Hi These can be retrofitted if necessary - if you are up north check link below. http://sportsandclassic.com/index.php?page=services_rear_parking_sensors - Simon

POST 8Original post

Scott had some sensors on his golf which were quite well hidden around the number plate. He might be able to help you. BTW, your car cannot be a 2000 C4S.

POST 9Original post

Concur with the Halfords kit. I recall seeing pictures of such a kit installed (not on a Porsche) and it looked very OEM to me. C4S models didn't come on to the market until 2001 or 2002. Perhaps you are confusing your C4 car with a Tiptronic S transmission....? This car would most likely sport optional GT3 body kits as the C4S has it's own unique body kit (much of the Turbo's kit) as standard. Can you post up any pics for us all to see please? ~ Maxie

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmm might be wrong then.. I will post pictures up! Asim recommended this: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11255610 ?? Any thoughts - it says its wireless ? but it needs power somehow.. ?

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is a printscreen from a video I have, I will take proper pictures later

POST 12Original post

Yep, thats a C4 mate, not a C4S. Nice looking car though...more pics please! Taran :?:

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! lol dont know where I got the extra 's' from! will fix my sig now

POST 14Original post

Nice car Shaz. The rear camera in Costco looks pretty good - better option than the bum warts IMO. I'n sure install and power is straight forward enough.

POST 15Original post

Yep, narrow bodied C4 with a GT3 kit. C4S has the wide body and Turbo headlights & much of the Turbo body kit. Nice car you have there though. Let us know when you have fitted your park kit. Would like to see some pics of the install and how the camera has been mounted. ~ Maxie :thumb:
