Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

hope someone might be able to help, i have just been informed that my 2000 996 requires a new abs pump at a cost of around £2000! but my warranty company "AUTOPROTECT" wont pay out and now have cancelled my warranty as i was 6 DAYS late with the service (i was in carribbean getting hitched, at the time i thought that was more important!)
So i was wondering if anyone knew any salvage/breakers who might have a second hand pump?
any help or advice on this matter would be much appreciated
Cheers
Ady
Are you joking, 6 days late? and they wont cover, or is there more to it.
I see they are regulated by the FSA, I would put in a formal complaint to them and see if they can resolve it, at least they would then have a logged complaint against them and you get something back.
If you get no luck let us know, then we could all send a question to autoprotect along the lines of " I was thinking of getting policy, but see on the web that you refuse to pay out if a service is 6 days late, surely this cant be true?"
good luck
Tim
Have you got a friendly lawyer you know to take a look at the paperwork and advise on the legitimacy of their cancellation of your warranty.
If not go to your Local Citizens Advice Bureau, they can access help on this one and arrange a free 15-30 minutes with a Solicitor if that is the right course.
I used to be a CAB Generalist Advisor, and there is a lot that they can do to ensure you get the right response to what seems to be a valid grievance.

Read the terms of your warranty provision very carefully as by accepting these terms you enter/have entered into a legal agreement with your warranty provider. If you or them fail to adhere to the terms then you(or them) are in breach of contract.
There are no if's, but's or maybe's when it comes to warranty terms so unless you can prove that the contract is/was unfair, misleading or unreasonable then you ain't got a leg to stand on. Sadly it was up to you to have the car serviced within the period outlined in the warranty terms.
If you have had the warranty for more than 14 days(re cooling off period) you are deemed to have accepted the providers terms and conditions(IN FULL).
Most warranties(inc the OPC renewal ones) have "gotcha's" all over them.
My advice is to treat them as "parachutes" - pull the cord only in extreme claim situations and not for minor stuff.
yep its all in the small print! so i haven't got a leg to stand on!
But i have had some good news as i took my car over to mike at sports and classic in knutsford on saturday and after half an hour he has sorted the problem.
A new abs sensor which millbrooke cars in sheff had supposedly done and adjusted the brake pedal switch again which millbrooke should have done i guess!
So i don't think my car will go to millbrooke again anytime soon.
But big shout out to mike at S&C he's a top man and made me happy again with my C2, i was ready to go back to an Evo! LOL
