Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
You might want to check with your OPC that you haven't already voided the warranty by fitting an aftermarket nav system.
Leading evidence: 'Check with your opc' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with your opc' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been toying with the idea of getting rid of the turbo as I was getting a little bored with it. However there is nothing that I can think of that will do everything that I get out of it.
So last month I had the PCM1 taken out and replaced it with a Kenwood dnx7220 unit that I am very pleased with. I have now been looking at engine mods and have the car booked into Parr the week after next. It is going to have a remap, aluminum diverter valves and a new induction kit. The anticipated output once this lot has been done will be around 510bhp.
Now come the questions.
1. Will a modded 996tt be less desirable than a bog standard one when it comes to resale?
2. Would a car that has always been serviced by OPC be less desirable if it has specalist service stamps from now on?
3. Is it worth keeping the OPC warranty going or will they try and wrangle out of any future claims because of the mods?
4. Should I notify my
insurance
company?
Thoughts please
I reckon 510bhp will rekindle your enthusiasm Dave
1. Probably. Buyers assume it's been driven really hard, but I understand you're a very sedate driver
2. Not sure on a 996. On a 993, no problem really - but they have been out of the dealers alot longer than 996s. In theory a respected indie should be ok.
3. OPC warranty will probably be invalid with the mods, no?
4. Yes, otherwise they'll ran away faster than Dwain Chambers should the unthinkable happen and you need to claim. A decent specialist insurer should be cool with the mods though.
Probably haven't helped much, but these are my thoughts!
Are you considerinng an exhuast upgrade too?
1. as the cars get older the "right" modes shouldn't be an issue IMHO, but I doubt you would recover costs.
2. Slightly less desireable but only on a "pristine" standard car, I think there is an expectation that a car has to move out of the dealer network at some point.
3. My understanding is that the claim would need to be outside the scope of the mod to be honored, ie a re map would negate a warranty claim on an engine failure but a suspensin mod would not, that's just an assumption tho'
4. yes, why not?
You might want to check with your OPC that you haven't already voided the warranty by fitting an aftermarket nav system. I know it's stupid, but I have heard that they won't accept ANY mods. It's even more stupid, because PCM isn't covered by the Porsche warranty.
1. Simple and effective mods are marketable and help your car stand out and can always be reversed.
2. My car has Jzm, RSJ and OPC stamps, again the right specialist matters, but an OPC at the Porsche intervals
3. Keep it going, as the rest of the car should be covered
4,
5. Get an exhaust + airbox upgrade, as the remap and DV are only part of the effort and it needs more air/air flow.... then you can get a nice Manthey/9ff/Ref/Techart option.... a nice party piece
I think from a re-marketing perspective it is still desireable to see FPSH however if you don't want to pay OPC rates don't Camtume have Porsche status for servicing? If so, is the pricing as per OPC or cheaper?
