Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

has anyone had this happen, is there a fix not involving acetylene? the problem is i cannot access the rear set of bolts that need removing to remove the seat and see whats jamming things up, and as always, thanks

POST 2Original post

Is the reason you can't access the bolts because the seat is too far back? Couple of ideas. Get on amazon and search for "bore scope camera with light" and get one so you can see in there. You can also search for "torx double jointed wrench" you may find you can get in there that way. When I acquired mine, the seat rail were nearly immovable from all the dried fruit that had coalesced in there over the years. Brake Cleaner solved the problem.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for responding but there is no way to get to the rear bolts where the seat is stuck, this is a 993 but i am asking over the other forums cuz they are the same seat setups and anyway, that may be a good idea to get in there with a camera......thanks...

POST 4Original post

Can the cover and cusion be removed with the seat in the car? Probably not but maybe. Good luck.

Yes, it can be removed with the seat in the car but you can't put it back on or a new one back on with the seat in the car. I tried it.

POST 7Original post

If your seats are held in with torx head bolts you may still be able to turn them with a box end wrench. I found this out while trying to fit Recaros that had no sliders. It was a b*tch but doable.
