Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know the best oil to get at Halfords? I have just checked and oil running very low so can not get anywhere else. Its a 2001 911C2 Manual. Thanks in advance!!!

POST 2Original post

Mobil 1 is the one Porsche reccomend, I personally stick with that just in case. I think 0W-40 is the one to get, but hopefully someone will confirm.

POST 3Original post

That's what I use and they sell it at Halfords.

POST 4Original post

0w is too thin, probably one of the main reasons for a leaky RMS, I'd go for a 5w, but finding that might be a little difficult, so stick to the Mobil 1. I have noticed Halfords selling 15w-50 Motorsport Mobil 1 8)

POST 5Original post

Castrol Edge is the oil JZM put in my C4S - according to Castrol it's specially designed for performance cars. An Indy previosly put Magnatec in my car and it burnt it like crazy. Sine I've had edge everythin's been fine. Ray :thumb:

POST 6Original post

Mobil 1 is the stuff, 0-40w fully synthetic. Don't think about anything else. Costco sell it for just over £20 for 4 litres, which compares very nicely to the Porsche centre in Wilmslow that charges £12.75 a litre...
