Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used the guide put together by Bob Spratley & available on the PCGB forum (unfortunately only in the PCGB members area).
Leading evidence: 'Use guide put together by bob spratley & available' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean radiators' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

One view "the 996 Essential Companion" page 145 is that high pressure water or steam jet should be used but another view (a reoutable indie) is that no water should be used because of the risk of corrosion.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a silly question but how do you guys clean your radiators on your 996s. I have heard conflicting views. I enjoy my 996 tt every bits of it, this is by far the best car I have ever owned.
Blasting with water / steam and then going on a run to get the rads hot isn't going to do any more damage than driving in rain. 2 things are bad for rads: salt & wet debris.
Personally, on both 996's I've had, the first thing I did when I bought them was to take the front PU off and manually remove every bit of crud. The side rads are a sandwich in cars with A/C, the front one is the A/C and the rear is the water rad. Crud collects in the bottom of the sandwich and no amount of water from the front is going to dislodge it. One you've cleaned it all out (keeping an eye out for oil stains on the A/C rads - indicating a leak) the best option is to fit mesh grilles to keep the worst of the leaves, straw, wildlife & fag-ends out in future. Mine are DIY (total cost £20) but expensive kits are available from Porsheshop & Parr.
Ditto, what he said :thumb:
Get that PU off, clean out all the crud and put some mesh on there. Very easy to do, really surprised Porsche didn't do this from the factory.
Mesh sounds like a great idea, anyone got pictures of how you did it?
Other than mesh what else do you need for fixing? screws, epoxy resin?
Did you use alu or stainless mesh? :chin:

I used the guide put together by Bob Spratley & available on the PCGB forum (unfortunately only in the PCGB members area).
I will make it available on my own website for about a week:

If you need a guide to removing the front PU, try
here
It's for a Boxster, but it's almost exactly the same on the 996 bar a couple of extra screws near the bottom of the PU by the wheels IIRC.
