Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone, I have a '04 911 996.2 6 speed. I just changed out my transmission mount. After finishing up I took a ride and noticed having issues shifting into 1st and 2nd. Do uguys think this is because of replacement of the mount? If so, can anyone help me out with adjustments to the cables, or whatever I need to do. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, MB.

Check if shift cable(s) popped out of their mounts. Lots of guys use zip ties, some drill holes and use safety wire. Some replace the complete other wise perfect cable... Probably a few more ways to secure them once they pop out.

Did you remove the transmission from the car? If did it in the car did you lower it enough to put stress on the cables, I assume you didn't disconnect them? Here is a good pic with someone having them zip tied. Mine are zip tied.

POST 4Original post

That cable on the right is really tricky to get to seat right.
