Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T105141Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've just got a 1998 996 and want to put on an induction kit to free it up a bit. When looking at this http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?ID=318 it says it's for 996 1999 onwards. Was the fitting and OEM air kit different on a 1998 then or will this fit? :?:

POST 2Original post

1999 onwards refers to the US model introduction, so no different to the 1998 not sure you'll get 23bhp but it will ceratinly free up the engine

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cool. So that model number will fit a UK 1998 car. Now time to contact my friends in the US and get one  I think 23 is a 'pie in the sky' number, maybe 15 would be closer. Cheers for the help :thumb:

POST 5Original post

Before finalising on the K&N Kit, think about the Fab Speed Cold Air System from Porscheshop. Big Bob

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A link would be good as I can't find this product on their site. Only K&N, Evolution and Highflow are there :dontknow:

POST 7Original post

Sorry the "Hi Flow" is the Fab Speed Product. Check with Paul at Porscheshop he will confirm. Regards Big Bob

POST 8Original post

2.3 on a very cold day, more like -23 on a hot one

POST 9Original post
