Planning to service the trans with a fluid change. Was reading the Pelican Parts article and looks like Pentosin ATF-1 is the recommended ATF fluid but ATF-1 is hard to find. FCP Euro recommends either ZF Lifeguard 5 or Fuchs ATF 6 as OE alternatives. Wondering if one of these alternatives would work or if there's any recommendations.

I don't have a Tip, but Pentosin was used in my PDK . They may be hard to find, but it's probably worth it. But know this, I know that ZF makes the PDK , and I'm nearly certain that they also make the Tip. So use that knowledge as you see fit.

I believe the Tiptronic was a Mercedes transmission. Very stout and reliable. Used in lots of different applications - even with V12 engines. I've been told the Pensotin name is being phased out - Fuchs makes the oil.. so my cars now get Fuchs oil rather than Pensotin. That info was from FTPEuro.. who I trust with this sort of info.
