Both stages had resistance, which I guess means the PO installed resistors.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hello, on my 2011 Cayman I was trying to figure out how to remove my airbag light given that I don't have a steering wheel airbag; I thought turning Driver Thorax airbag to "No" with my Foxwell NT510 Elite would be sufficient, so I tried that to no avail. Can someone help me, looking through these possibly? These photos tell what's happening 1) These are the codes: Driver Thorax makes sense because I have a non-airbag aftermarket steering wheel. The 2nd code, I don't understand about PCM communication? 2) These are all the POSIP (SRS) system's settings. I turned off the Driver Thorax airbag, setting it to "No". I did turn the driver buckle to "No" as well as the "AWS". But even with that and then clearing codes, it was all for naught as the airbag light stays on

POST 2Original post

I’ve been told that thorax airbags refers to the side airbags that pop out from the seats.

POST 3Original post

Oh god. I assumed head airbag meant the side curtain bag (SCAB). On a related note, does the 987 Cayman not have a SCAB?

POST 4Original post

Update: I turned the thorax bag back on and checked the resistance values of the steering wheel front airbag. Both stages had resistance, which I guess means the PO installed resistors. I turned the airbag coding back on for both stages then. I cleared the code then. Took the car for a drive and the airbag light.l stayed off
