Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used to run N6s on my 4S throughout the year, moving to Corsa track during the summer
Leading evidence: 'Run n6s' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I used to run RS29s on my 4S and it wasn't until I realised that I went through 2 sets of standard discs in 9 months (about 5 trackdays) that I put two and two together and came up with the pads

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Having dropped over £3k into my 996 C4S since I took ownership in May I thought I may as well not skimp on tyres and pads with 'Ring trip looming in 6 weeks time.
My car is a daily driver and with that in mind any particular recommendations? I was thinking Pagid yellows for brakes but to be honest I dont really know so any pointers in the right direction would be most appreciated.
Steve.
Hi Steve,
I'd advise not getting Pagid RS19/29 (yellow) if you are using standard discs, you'll find those pads far too aggressive and you'll be left with cracked discs. I used to run RS29s on my 4S and it wasn't until I realised that I went through 2 sets of standard discs in 9 months (about 5 trackdays) that I put two and two together and came up with the pads
I'd probably go with RS421 (Black) and stick with standard pads on the rear, upgrade the fluid to a Motul RBF, Castrol SRF type and you'll improve your braking no end. This aside, the 'Ring is generally light on the brake when compared to a track.
On the tyres front, you might want to consider a set of Pirelli Corsa System N6 in 235/295 sizes (if you can find them) these will give you better wet weather performance over a Toyo R888, however the R888 are significantly cheaper. I used to run N6s on my 4S throughout the year, moving to Corsa track during the summer
Sort the brakes, sort the tyres and get a good geo and you'll be well set up for the 'Ring and the ringroad
had a conversation with the nice folk at Parr in Crawley and the upshot was:
Michelin Pilot Sports all round: 900 ish
Standard pads all round: getting on for 500 (1 or 2 trips to ring each year not warranting much in the way of fancier pads)
'fast road geo': 240
all in +VAT sir... not much change out of 2k
seem to be in the right ball park? or am I being taken for a ride?
Not the cheapest quote and you can do better if you shop around for the tyres and barke pads.
Geo on the money though (although I would never let Parr do a geo on my car)
