My Google Fu isn't strong today. Or maybe I'm just a moron.
Anyway, looking for the part numbers for the OEM transmission and engine mounts for a
987.2 Cayman
with a
PDK
. Not interested in "race" or "OEM+" or any kind of aftermarket mounts. It's my wife's car, and she likes to ride as smoothly and quietly as possible.
I have no idea why I'm having such a hard time finding the numbers, so maybe one of y'all can help.
Okay, so I found the engine mount, 9A1-375-023-22 along with the rubber insulators, 9A1-375-257-01-M100
But the only thing I'm able to find for the transmission mounts are the entire assemblies
9A1-375-093-51, brackets and all. And they're like $350 each. Surely that can't be the only way to get these mounts.
Help me Planet-9, you're my only hope.
I also only found complete assemblies when I googled the PN.. so I googled something different:
german hydraulic damper transmission mounts
And back came some results..
Hydro Motor Mounts
A hydro motor mount has an upper and lower chamber connected by a series of channels and separated by a rubber membrane inside a cage. The mount is filled with hydraulic fluid, which generates secondary damping. At small idle amplitudes, the rubber membrane of the passive amplitude decoupler...
vibracoustic.com
Well, that's pretty interesting. These people make mounts for exactly this sort of purpose..
But none that look exactly like a bolt-up solution. I then did an image search of the part drawing.. came back with a lot of the Porsche online catalogs (cheapest price seemed to be Sunset Porsche - $326..) and it looks like Kia/Hyundai used a very similar mount on a number of their vehicles.
I think you have to just accept your wallet will be lighter.. sigh.
I finally found these transmission mounts that are supposed to work. Got them from Pelican.

Let us know how these work... they are spec'd for the
987.1
cars.. not
PDK
cars.
And they've never been wrong?
Let us know how the fit works out... could be you've found a bargain.
