No guys, I check today everything and even loose the bolts a bit on the brackets still the same but probably you are right about resonance because the boxes are Sport.

Suggestion

The vibration changing when you put it into Drive is probably just the resonance change from above at lower revs.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys. just finished to instal the new boxes to my 996+spark plugs, big job with lot of grinder cutting. When I start the car and seat in I feel that the all body slightly vibrate and when put the gearbox on D (tiptronic) the vibration became more noticeable. The boxes made by Designtek, I put only new bolts everywhere, brackets and double clamps are original, tips clamps are new. Whats the problem? Maybe worth to loose all bolts and let the engine Idle a minute to correct the boxes position? Those two boxes don't have a flex pipes on them as OEM does but I did not read any bad review about this issue. Lot of aftermarket exhaust come without flex papes and people happy. thanks :?:

POST 2Original post

Is it possible that one of the boxes or pipes is now touching part of the body or another component? That will cause the vibration you are feeling. The vibration changing when you put it into Drive is probably just the resonance change from above at lower revs.

POST 3Original post

As above, providing you've got it all back together have you checked the bumper heatshields are clear of the silencers? with the sleeve joint it's not always easy to tell how close the silencer/cat matings are.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No guys, I check today everything and even loose the bolts a bit on the brackets still the same but probably you are right about resonance because the boxes are Sport. Will take the car to work to see how noisy it is. Thanks

POST 5Original post

You mention "+ spark plugs" are you confident that they all went in OK, torqued and the coils all went back OK plus the connections. Could be a misfire?
