Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Guys, looking for some advice. Ended up having to pull my fuel tank sender as a result of a stuck fuel tank level... on removing it, the electrical wiring has degraded and the protective shielding has started falling away. Additionally, the black terminal covers have deteriorated with one just falling into powder! Can you buy a replacement cable or do I need to make up a harness? If so, what cable should be used as I’m worried about it being in petrol!

POST 2Original post

Wow that's bad! Does your gas have a lot of ethanol in it?

POST 3Original post

No, car has been run exclusively on Premium 98 only. Never seen anything like it, bu the casings are so brittle that just touching them causes the casing to fall off. An update to this issue. I have taken the fuel pump and sender to an auto electrician to be checked and tested, and have since found that the fuel pump has burned out, so I am now searchng for a replacement.
