Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My battery is disconnected and the front is shut. I've tried everything I can find online; my door won't even shut now as it is in the locked position. Any left field tips before I smash the car up? How difficult should it be to open where the battery is??? I'll be selling the car if I ever open it. Crap.

POST 2Original post

Assume you have electronic frunk and engine lid release? There is a bypass in the fuse box for when the battery is dead - watch here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqYfayMGyz4 HTH Ray ps dont smash the car up

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've had to do that before. First thing I did. The battery is disconnected so maybe the electrics need a connection to it. I can't get the wheel off to find the emergency release cable that people have posted is in various positions. Maybe flaw in the car. I've had in 16 years and I'm so ready to get rid. Such a ***** problem.

POST 5Original post

Pretty much everything you need is here .. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=56267 if you can get into the car .. door wont shut ? then the fuse board and a jump pack on the red tab and the door hinge bracket .. key fob and bonnet button repeatedly pressed will open the bonnet . There is no difference from a flat battery and a disconnected one .. the fuse board tab by passes the battery .

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Top Man, Got it!! Repeated pressing and alarm going off but it popped. Really appreciate your help. Sorted the door too. I might have to sell it too; it's a big problem. If anyone fancies a 2000 996 let me know. It's been well behaved part from this...
