Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Planet-9: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hi all, looking for some info from the hive mind... I've resigned myself to needing a new front control module and have read that one would need coding if I buy from ebay or similar. My question is, seeing as this part (in various revisions) covers a fee different cars and specs, if I got one out of a 3.4 Cayman S , what's the likelihood that it doesnt need coding? I can see that if I got it from a 997 or something else options would need changing etc... but direct swap? Maybe it has chassis number etc? If I plug in one that needs coding to try it, is it likely to render my car a beautiful blue brick? Would putting the old one back in return to normal? I ask as I've done this "must be programmed" routine with my Z4 and successfully installed a new module that worked fine without any coding. Input welcome!! P Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk
