I have same issue the stubborn stains from bird poo seem impossible to shift, the Autoglym kit that people rave about doesn't seem to actually do a lot, I read a detailer uses a vax machine and I'm going to try that

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I was down at Oulton Park at the weekend in my white immaculate) Boxster-987, parked my car in the Hotel car park which was under a tree(Mistake!), in the morning the car was covered in bird sh*t, once back home I've given her a good wash, the body work is now fine, but the Hood still shows white marks, anybody got any ideas the best way of cleaning the hood -I've tried soapy water, is there a spray you can buy to take out any stains?

Try leaving a (colourfast) towel full of warm water on it to soak it off good and proper. You might need a few goes but it should work. You can also gently agitate it with a soft clothes brush.

POST 5Original post

there is a very good article all about this in a Porsche magazine this month - sorry cannot remember which one as I was flipping through a few in my local WHSmith library

Mike Brown said: 911 and porsche world, good article on cleaning the roof That was it - a kit for £75 but the results were impressive

POST 8Original post

From experience the only thing that I would add is get the roof nice and wet and don't be afraid to scrub hard before re-proofing

POST 9Original post

£75?! You are being had over. A renovo cleaner and reviver/dye is about £25 and if you want to waterproof the fabric a tin of fabsil is about £10 or less

There's a decent guide on Kelly's site.. http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/guides/soft-top P.S. Once you are clean, re-proofing is really worth the effort [for costmetic reasons]. I recently tried some Grangers XT and the initial results were as good as the video at the above link.... P.P.S. You generally need to apply these re-proofing products to a thoroughly wetted top in the shade and then move the car into the sun to let it bake dry. However you would be wise to mask-off the glass, adjacent trim/paintwork first which can be a pain so best left for sunny day without too much wind http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grangers-XT-Spray-Proofer-...
