those lights are also sensitive to the bulb type IIRC - had to try 2-3 different bulbs before managing to find those that worked to replace the blown one.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

This is probably a simple solution, but does anyone know when those Interior lights on the rear pillars (above the rear shock towers) should come on? I can't get either to light up with doors open, hatch open etc. Tried replacing the bulbs - will need to put a meter on it to see if they are getting power.

POST 2Original post

Do your footwell lights stay off when the door is open? If so, try the overhead light switch(s). IIRC, they are 3 position (Off, On, Auto (when a door opens). Not necessarily in that order. See the manual for more info.

POST 3Original post

The footwell and door lights do come on, which is why I'm scratching my head. The only two that aren't lit are the two side lights in the hatch - I will trace it out at some point

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

That did it - finally found a bulb type that worked. Thank you

POST 6Original post

A couple weeks ago I replaced mine with some LED bulbs with absolutely no issue (except burning my fingers trying to remove the incandescent bulbs). W5W LED T10 194 PHILIPS Car White 6000K Just needed to test the polarity of the LED bulb (and reverse if necessary) before re-seating the fixture. So I don't see how any t-10 bulb wouldn't work as a replacement.

POST 7Original post

no idea RSchwerer, the tech that was helping me with it also had no idea why some bulbs worked and some didn't. maybe minor spec differences?
