But yes, I would check power is getting to the motor before swapping out.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I presume this is answered somewhere else but I can't find it. I've changed the fuse, it wasn't blown but tried another one anyway. 2000 996 Carrera. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Does the washer motor work when you pull the stalk? If not that would point to the stalk being at fault. If it does, then maybe the motor has failed.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The washer does. I suspected it was the motor, thanks for confirming. I'll order one - is it a replace I could do myself?

POST 4Original post

I would be doing some voltage checks at the motor before ordering a new one 🤷"â™‚️

POST 5Original post

I've not replaced a motor, but the area is easy to access so hopefully a relatively simple job to change. But yes, I would check power is getting to the motor before swapping out.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your advice, I'll check the power first. For anyone with the same problem I found how to change it here: https://www.renntech.org/topic/31172-wiper-motor-replacement/

POST 7Original post

This might be useful if it's not the motor. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=145605&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=40

POST 8Original post

Off hand i would suspect the switch or fuse C6 . Make sure you have a feed at the wiper motor on the black/yellow wire as per the diagram below . Also the brown wire needs to be an earth so confirm that . The washers are a separate system from the motor so will work . Green appears to be a feed with the wipers in the on position .. either speed 1 or 2 , diagram doesn't say which . Black/white appears to be a feed with the wipers in the on position .. either speed 1 or 2 , diagram doesn't say which . Brown/white seems to be a switched earth .

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
