This is not a probability of success.

If I open the car door immediately after manually unlocking it (and before manually locking it and then using the fob), the alarm immediately goes off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If I leave my car sitting for more than circa 3 days, the light stops flashing on the dash and my remote central locking key fob won't open the car. When I press the button on the fob, the light flashes on the fob as if its "talking" to the car...but the car doesn't open. I then have to unlock and lock the car manually to reset the alarm and then the remote fob works OK. If I open the car door immediately after manually unlocking it (and before manually locking it and then using the fob), the alarm immediately goes off. ...weird....what can this be? cheers

POST 2Original post

Tis normal. The car goes into a hibernation mode after 5 days. You need to unlock the car with the key and get the key in the ignition within 15 seconds to prevent the alarm sounding. I think there is another method by locking and unlocking the door with the key a few times but not certain.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

oh to be young and naive...well naive anyway
