Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

Obviously I still need to be able to check the oil and see other messages somehow.

Are you saying that the PCM can display the TPMS readout, oil pressure, stop/start/reset the chrono, and all the other things that can be done using the stalk?

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

PCM Question
Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Okay, I've never used PCM, but some of what I read made me think you *may* be able to get the dash message center information on the head unit. I'm talking about the menu system you access with the lower left stalk on the steering column. The reason I ask is I put an AiM dash on top of my steering column which blocks most of the gauges (fortunately you can still see fuel fine, but not much else, which isn't a problem since the AiM dash has all that info *except*, obviously, that message center). So, do I need to do more work to make the AiM dash easy to remove, or would adding PCM "fix" that problem? Obviously I still need to be able to check the oil and see other messages somehow. I'd normally prefer going with an aftermarket head unit (and possibly NAV), but if this solves that other issue... --Donnie

POST 2Original post

You can get the PCM to display the same information as the on-board computer. Select the "Trip" function and the trip data options will allow you to select the "...on-board comp." option which then will mimic the same display the dash shows. I don't think it will display your rpm or speed.

POST 3Original post

Really? I guess I need to read the PCM manual after all. Are you saying that the PCM can display the TPMS readout, oil pressure, stop/start/reset the chrono, and all the other things that can be done using the stalk?

POST 4Original post

No no, I should have been more clear. It will only display you trip time, distance traveled, average speed, and fuel milage. You can also set the speed limits with the PCM (another function of the stalk). At least that's all I know right now. I haven't read the whole manual. I will post in the future if I find out more.

POST 5Original post

Thanks for clarifying that. I wrote the post 1500 miles from my Cayman and was going from memory. With a little luck, I will actually get to drive my Cayman tomorrow.
