Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I managed to crack 3 993GT wheel centres one of which was new (probably new/old stock) and Porsche replaced under the 2 year warranty on new parts, I didn't get a chance to crack any more as someone broke into my garage and nicked them.
Leading evidence: 'Replace under the 2 year warranty' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'non standard battery' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace car back' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I’ve had two engine mounts replaced under warranty in that time.

I have just renewed my warranty for another 2 years, and didn't speak to them re wheels.

I would like a lightweight lithium battery when mine goes caput, but I am sure Porsche will say any electrical fault was due to the non standard battery.......

Suggestion
Check out bc forged’s center lock wheels, there are a set very close to the bbs at over half the price, quality is ment to be right up there with the best as well.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had a set that worked very well for trackdays on my 981 GT4 ...
Contemplating buying a set for my 991gt3, cause they look great and are light. Just curious if anyone has fitted these or another lighter wheel and noticed much, if any difference in the handling & ride??
I have a set of Weiss Gold FI-R’s fitted to my 991.2 GT3. Love them and I’d say there’s a slight difference in ride I noticed on our roads….a very slight difference.
One word of warning BBS are a bit of a nightmare in my experience, the wheels are made in Japan and then painted in Germany (at least mine were). It took quite a long time and some fairly blunt communications towards the end of the process to get them delivered. That said Rimstyle who are the UK importer were very good to deal with and offered total transparency on the delivery issues…and were cheaper than the likes of JCR and JZM who also sold them at the time.

If you can find a set in stock somewhere I’d probably pay the premium if they were more expensive than a set ordered from the factory….

Blooming stunning. Look like RS Mags -
What would a set cost roughly ?
They’re just the forged wheels. Not sure on cost today,I think I paid £6500 four to five years ago.
Manthey are Mag I think ? So they’ll be expensive I imagine !

I went for the Mag wheels, luckily I spotted one had a crack after 4 years and BBS/Manthey were very supportive and provided a new wheel FOC. The FI-R saves 70% of the weight reduction of the Mags over OEM, and the Mags are almost twice the cost now!
In well over 100k miles on mags, from 964RS through 993GT, and CGT it's the first issue I have ever had with a magnesium wheel failing. I suspect it was a manufacturing defect on the GT3T wheel.

I bought a set of boxed new mags for my 991.2 GT3RS including TPS valves for £11k ... last year ...
As mentioned, I paid £7k for my GT4 F1R's .... three years earlier ...

How does fitting bbs Fi-r work with a Porsche warranty? If fitting aftermarket stuff, including wheels can void warranty, is this different with Fi-r and if so why?
I think it's down to how good a relationship you have with your OPC.
My car is non-standard with Surface Transform carbon brake discs and my OPC have said that particularly since discs and pads are consumables, so long as I'm not claiming for any problems with the brakes, this should not adversely affect any other potential claims.
But they do have my timed service and MOT work ...

Yes, another reason I stayed standard, but as ChrisW says, depends on the OPC and your relationship.

Depends on your OPC.
Mine have been on my car for four years bar a few months in winter here and there when the OEM wheels go back on with PS4S.
When the car has been to the OPC it’s always had the FI-R’s on….never been mentioned re warranty. I’ve had two engine mounts replaced under warranty in that time. I guess if I thought the car has a serious fault I could always out the OEM wheels back on…
If you read the warranty, it certainly shouldn't affect , say an engine issue or anything not wheel/suspension related, but OPC's try to say even if you have not got N marked tyres, the whole warranty is void, which, as I say if you read it, doesn't appear to be the case.
Trying to argue against Porsche & the OPC's would probably cost mote than just changing a car back to standard i.e replacing all the tyres, etc
As stated earlier in the thread, some OPC's would ignore the wheels and just deal with warranty claims, but depends on the OPC and your relationship with them
I have the Bronze wheels on my Miami Blue GT3. In my opinion, its one of the best looking wheels available for sale. Simple design and do an amazing job of showing off the ceramic brakes!
