Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

This solved the problem for me, and everything now works faultlessly.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, Quick question hopefully someone will know. When driving at night sometime the intrument cluster lights dont come on. Also when they do come sometimes theres an intermittent flicker, seems like a loose connection to me but where? Cheers Mark

POST 2Original post

Unless you're happy taking the cluster out I'd just take it to an Indy. It's an easy job to take the cluster out but you have to be careful with the surrounds as they can get marked. Once the cluster is out there are 3 connectors, maybe one of these is loose. Is it all lights or just one or 2. The bulbs twist into position so maybe check those.

POST 3Original post

Hi Mark, I had a similar problem, so I had a look at the wiring diagram. This showed me that the feed for the dash lights is also connected to, amongst other things, the number plate lamps. When your dash lights are flickering, nip around the back of the car to see if your number plate lights are doing the same. Mine were, and I deduced from that the lights switch was at fault. Being a bit of a tinkerer, I removed the switch, and stripped it down to clean the internal contacts. This lasted for a few months, but went again. I then bought a switch off Ebay.com from the states for £30. This solved the problem for me, and everything now works faultlessly. Hope this helps. If you need any help removing the switch, let me know. :thumb:
