Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace around' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace around' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Won't it depend on whether the tyres are directional (most are these days surely?) and if they have simply swapped the wheels and tyres (bad) or changed the tyres on the wheels, which would be OK.

Pirelli are such cheapskates that they use a boring 'straight' Times New Roman (style) font on the inside tyre lettering.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Car has just come back from a full geo and wheel balancing. The front wheels/tyres have been swapped around. The tyres are PZero Rosso N4s (not the directional ones). Is this safe/good practice or a balls up?
only if the tyres are not specific to sides, as they can't be done on certain tyres that specify the outer side
have done that with a set of R888's and they were fine

You should be able to look at the markings on the tyres and if all the markings make sense, ie direction of rotation arrows point the right way and left/right markings correct then I wouldn't worry.
PZero Rosso N4s are asymetrical so they will have an "Outside" marking and a "Rotation" marking. If the markings are correct then you are good to go - otherwise they've screwed up. Tyres on the left of the car cannot be put on the right, and vice versa.

Doh why do I always find myself questioning the pro's work!
Lucky we have 911uk to vent these questions before putting the wind up the service department!
Any idea what the rotation markings look like?
The wheels have been swapped without removing the tyres.
The tyres look to me like they would be identical if placed side by side.
The rotation mark is an arrow with the head pointing in the direction of the rotation of the tyre when the vehicle is moving forwards. So, taking the left hand side, the rotation mark, if placed at the top of the tyre should be pointing to the left. On the right hand side the arrow should point to the right if placed at the top of the wheel.
The word "OUTSIDE" should be visible on the outer tyre wall if the tyre is asymetrical.
If the wheels have been swapped without changing the tyres the "OUTSIDE" marking should still be OK (as long as they were right to start with) but the rotation marks will be wrong.
I'm sure it's not the first time a tyre fitter has done this - and I'm sure it won't be the last - but it needs to be fixed ASAP as the tyre will not perform correctly.

Dave
Thanks for the responses. It's entirely possible that I'm being thick. Can't see any kind of arrow. :wtf: All 4 tyres say Outer on the outside.
I've been to Bedford twice on these tyres.
Maybe they thought the outside edge of the left tyre was wearing faster than the right hence swapped them... PZero Rossos are described as asymetric on the Pirelli site. Could there be another explanation?
You do not have a problem.
Rossos have an inner and an outer - this means they are asymmetric, i.e. they are not symmetrical. Rossos are NOT directional. This means once the tyre is on the rim, you can swap the wheel from either side of the car to the other, as the outer edge of the tyre is always going to be on the outside.
If you can see this fancy font then the tyre is mounted correctly. Pirelli are such cheapskates that they use a boring 'straight' Times New Roman (style) font on the inside tyre lettering.
