This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Howdy all I've read that the stock 420hp can be pushed up without huge expense, what are the standard bolt ons or performance additions to add a few more ponies without major engine tear downs.

POST 2Original post

Exhaust (100 or 200 cell) and a tune (COBB, EPL, Protomotive, etc.) will get you about 80HP. Buy a used exhaust save a bunch of $$$. Most/all tunes are done with a new file you just plug into your OBDII connector with a lap top.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for that. Does changing the intercoolers and turbo's from an X50 car also help ?

POST 4Original post

Yes, both would help. However, there are much better (more power) options. Best thing to do is to talk to a shop that does turbo upgrades and discuss your options. Call Dan at Speed Gallery @ [phone removed] (North Hollywood, right off the 170 on Sherman Way) who works with different tuners depending on what you would like. He builds podium winning cars for the POC, NASA, PCA, etc. for the track. He does great work for street and street/track cars too. IMHO. One of the very few shops that knows how to work on and upgrade 996 Turbos and get it right the first time. Been there done that with about 5 other shops.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
