Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Recommend others out there' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend others out there' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. It'll only baulk if you rush the change, the clutch speed of action doesn't change though.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
wanted to share - as above really - I have been toying with the idea of this upgrade for ages, but never got round to it.
Having done it - what can I say! Should have done it ages ago!
Recommended for all others out there!

Definitely something worth considering, I had a B&M Short Shift on my 4S, it improved the throw quite considerably!
I've got it for sale, if anyone's interested

well ive got it on my 996tt.
great when day to day driving.
really pants on track . it bloody baulks all the time.
to explain : will go in , but you have to feal for it.
Interesting - So far I have not really felt any issues, though 2nd can be a bit of a pain. I am at the ring in Oct, so that will be a good test for it, though it feels much more positive to me.

I must admit, that was my thoughts as well, Damian, unless there is an underlying fault.
It is conceivable that the short shift would exaggerate any issues.

JJ you have the factory short shift ?
Thats what i have and i must say i dont rate it at all. Its actually not that short... a mile away from the shift length of a manthey or B&M shifter.... it can be hard to shift quickly into 3rd, and generally is nothing like as "rifle bolt" as the standard or short shift on the 986S for instance. Has quite a bit of play in it also.... opc have refitted new cables but not felt any difference....
Its a worthwhile improvement in shift length on the standard 6tt shift tho but i'm toying with binning it for either the 997 shifter or a manthey one from jzm (tho extremely expensive at £600 fitted)
Hi Guys
Mine is a factory fit and I must say that mine feels fine. I dont think I would want it any shorter than it is now, and it feels to be the same as the same short shifter that I played with on a 997 turbo (that was at the dealership)
Could be rose tinted specs of course, but I will confirm if time produces a different result.
Selecting all the gears seems fine at the mo, with the exception of second, but that is user rather than box - just got to get used to it.
