Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just looking through some old bills and it seems the rear ARB bushes were replaced along with the front lower suspension arms.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Have recently put a set of 19" Techarts on my C2. It has given me more grip on the front but has highlighted that I may need a bush or track rod end change at the front as I can feel the wheels wanting to go off in any direction they want through the steering wheel. Didn't feel it so much with the standard wheels. Took a dive across a lane on a dual carriageway on it's own at speed the other night so have decided to get my hands dirty. It's floaty enough at the front at speed anyway but with the steering as it is it feels dangerous. Is there any help I can get on doing this job myself followed by a geo setup? Also, the damn infra red sensor on the dashboard rattles, can anyone help me find what holds it in so I can tighten it or something. Don't want to bite the thing off in frustration !

POST 2Original post

I don't know how the front end of the suspension of a 996 differs from a 993 but my car had a tendency to change lanes of it's own accord until I had the bushes replaced and it was fine after that, so that's possibly the cause of your problems.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just looking through some old bills and it seems the rear ARB bushes were replaced along with the front lower suspension arms. This was 7k ago in 2006. I may just start with the ARB bushes on the front and opt for the powerflex bushes. The front suspension arm wouldn't have died by now surely !???
