Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, my drivers side window doesn't drop when closing the door, so the door doesn't close properly. I am having to keep the window slightly open when closing the door and then using the key to rise the window when locking the car. I have done a search and it could be the microswitch....from the results some people have said it is covered under warranty - is this true? Any advice appreciated.

POST 2Original post

It's easier to check from the having the door closed and window totally up. Does the window drop a bit when you use either the inside or outside handles? They both have seperate microswitches which would normally fail individually. Otherwise has anyone had the door panel off recently? There is some wiring that's very easy to trap and damage when bolting it back on.

POST 3Original post

Not covered on warrenty as mine is the same. 252 quid at Porsche in Leeds....

POST 4Original post

Common issue. Microswitch in handle has failed. Has to be replaced as a unit, very expensive. Cheers, Jeff

POST 5Original post

Microswitch and OPC Mid Sussex fixed mine under warranty.

POST 6Original post

There are a total of 7 microswitches in the door. 5 are encapsulated in the door lock assembly, but the two which control the window drop are fitted to the outside and inside handles, and are replaceable separately.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheers guys, its weird but the last couple of times...its worked as it should...will keep an eye on it...I have few months of warranty left so will take it to an OPC if it reoccurs.

POST 8Original post

Adit I would get it seen to sooner rather than later. It will only get worse.
