Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Looking to get a 996 soon but I was just watching a rerun of TopGear and they were testing a TVR.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
Looking to get a 996 soon but I was just watching a rerun of TopGear and they were testing a TVR. Now, I'm not so sure!!
The TVR seems more special/unique while the Porsche is more mainstream. What do you guys think?
Anyone had this dilemma before?
TVR is a weekend car primarily in my opinion
Wouldn't even be on my radar as I need my car for daily use and 12-15000 miles per year.
I would certainly consider a TVR for a fun car though
Like I say, just my opinion but these two cars are there for completely seperate jobs.
You were watching that too, the TVR Tuscan2? What about the T350C?
IMHO though it's not even a contest, 911 everytime
As a point of referance, here's a TVR overheating (and an Exige) after a very rapid and exciting hill climb while my 996 sits comfortably awating the next battle :thumb:
TVR overheating? That's sounds bad.
Just on looks, the TVR does look more exotic. Maybe that's because I've been looking at Porches for some time.
I've not driven both 996 nor the tVR so don't know how they compare. Did you get to drive the TVR?
Maybe I should do some reading on how they drive...
Yeah, the dash board lit up telling him to basically shutdown, it was pretty damn hot and we were climbing fast... It wasn't the only time though. One thing I'd say about the TVR, NO ABS! You hit the brakes hard and you will see smoke, alot of smoke! I remember looking in my rearview mirror and seeing a nose down TVR with smoke everywhere, scary... For him not me, I was far enough infront
I never got to drive it but from what I hear it's a different less refined beast. And it get's hot in there! The transmission tunnel sits so high up and get's so hot that he had to use a glove to change gear...

G'day chaps - I used to have a Chimaera. Great fun, brutal, raw, etc. My colleague had a Sagaris )before baby number two came along.... and it was an absolute beast. Earlier cars had a bad rep for glitches. IMHO the 911 (993) is a nicer drive.
TVR's are nice and fairly unique at least compared to 996 numbers. You however have to be prepared for problem after problem. Whether it be windows that don't wind up, doors that won't open or check engine lights lighting up as much as the indicator.......... But they do offer a raw, unique experience. Keep it as a weekend toy and you'd be fine. Try and daily drive one and you'd sell it in no time.
My mate has a nice TVR but it's had it's share off issues. I do find the hidden press button to open the doors very cool....
haha, the hidden open door button. That's great. Clarkson was timing people to open the TVR and start the car. That was great.
I know the hidden button serves no purpose but still it's a novelty.
No competition in my opinion. But some people buy TVR's, can't see the attraction myself.
You won't be disappointed, stretch to a C4S or TT if you can, you won't be disappointed!
