Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

She arrived Monday night. Gave her a bath Tuesday morning. Spent last night cleaning her out. Found that the Porsche decals are just magnets so those are now removed. She had a nice racing helmet, subwoofers, battery tinder, Porsche car cover with bag, wind deflector, and the stock spoiler come with her. I went and got her registered and titled today so I can now drive her legally. I really liked my yellow *****, but I love love love my lady in red. She will be undergoing some cosmetic surgery over the next few days so I will post an update after I bring her home. I found she has some fun backlit mirrors and underdash lighting also!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I really don't have time during the week to do anything in the daylight, so it will have to wait until Saturday.

POST 7Original post

Nice looking car there Hawk, glad it came with a windscreen, the windscreen you were going to buy from Phil ended up in my hands after finding out he lived less than 10 mins from me, went and picked up the windscreen from him this morning.

POST 14Original post

Go Hawks! Are you in he Seattle area too? Good to see another red 996 in nice shape, love this color. edit: which rear wing is that? I thought about getting one myself, but if you're interested in selling it, ping me.

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 13829340

Good move Hawk! The fender logos are a Ferrari thang. No need to copy them. Porsche has always unique ways of badging a car. Many enthusiasts go a little wild with the rear logos. Some even think it's cool to rebadge a car into something that it's not like making 996 Carrera, a "CarreraS" even though all 996 owners know that Porsche didn't make a CarreraS in the 996 series. Hope you enjoy your "Lady in Red" dancing "cheek to cheek"! ha!

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 13830740

My '01 C4 was ordered with no badging. Then owner 2 or 3 decided to add a black 'carrera' badge on the deck lid. The OCD in my wants to correct it with the proper Carrera4 badge, but that means removing the perfectly good carrera badge, and buying expensive badges. Or just removing the badge on it now. Sorry to threadjack. OP, you have a beautiful car and I think it looks much better than the yellow one!

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 13830740

I put Fiero on the back of mine and I tell everyone it's a kit car. People have completmented me on how authentic it looks

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ha! Thank so everyone. I don't consider it threadjacking, just discussing! yeah as far as the magnets, if anyone wants them let me know. as far as the wing, I believe it is a misha GT2 wing without the 3rd brake light. i am not in Seattle anymore. I moved to Vegas a couple years ago but was in the Seattle area the 30 years before that. Go Hawks! if anyone needs a stock spoiler with all the hardware, a battery charger, a racing helmet, or 2 jl subsbin a custom box that fits in the rear seats, let me know.

POST 19Original post

The magnets sound like a great accent for your beer fridge...if you don't want them for that I would use them for just such a purpose

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 13830795

I'll take a magnet badge if you are offering. My garage fridge is pretty empty in the decoration department. FYI, I had the same Porsche charger, as you and got $80 selling it on CL. Went pretty quickly too.

POST 21Original post

Nice looking cab. Be careful with the battery tinder...it may cause a fire.

it was sent back to the brothel it came from. Used and abused. 2 holes in the transmission, rats nest, multiple other issues.

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 13830919

Could you elaborate on this a little bit? Overcharging, short circuit, etc? I run tenders on several of my cars and motorcycles for long periods of time with no issues so far. Thanks.

POST 27Original post

Congratulations on the car, Hawk. Love the red and the wing!

POST 28Original post

Why would a tender cause a fire? I have my bike on one and never had an issue.

POST 29Original post

Quotes source posts: 13830919, 13832827, 13832846

Someone is trying to be funny. tinder = something flammable tender = something to keep your battery happy

POST 31 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Preview. My stripes won't be installed until Monday unfortunately.

POST 33Original post

so glad you found a solid car, can't wait to see it

POST 34 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went out to our first PCA breakfast and meeting. We got a great welcome and I look forward to attending a lot of events with the Vegas chapter. I also finally was home during the daylight so took some photos as well. So far love the car and have some things that need addressed: started blue smoke at startup yesterday, stereo doesn't retain its settings after each turn off, and found some small damage with rust that I will need to address quickly. So far i have added the racing stripes ( I know not everyone's cup of tea, but it was for my kids and I love them - stripes and my kids ), painted the calipers from black to red, painted the wheels gloss black, intake resonator delete, black lug covers, and license plate screw covers. Some pics from today, enjoy!

POST 36Original post

Car is looking good! I like the stripe and the black wheels really look good against the red. What paint did you use to paint the calipers? I have a guy that wants to trade my wheels for some TurboTwists and he will get them powder coated black. I'd like to paint my calipers red when I do the switch.

POST 38 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13867498

Thanks man. I had one of my shops paint the wheels, calipers, and the license plate screw hole covers. I will be taking it back for them to repair my right quarter panel as well.

POST 39 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not a big deal but love the LEDs!

POST 41Original post

Those nightime shots are awesome! Good work! What are the next mods?

POST 42 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13890123

Thank you. I want to lower the car, tint the windows, and fix the stereo, then down the road switch out the front bumper with something more aggressive looking.

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Vegas had like a week straight of gray clouds and rain. The sun has been out for s couple of days now so had to put the top down on the way home from work today. I installed some LEDs for the parking lights up front, and swapped out the front/rear turn signals with LEDs as well. The side markers are next. I have a new flasher relay coming to correct the hyper/slow blink I get now. The front parking LEDs are super bright. I love them!

POST 44Original post

Beautiful car! So, sorry for the newb question, but what all 996s got the 911 badge on the rear? 40th AE and millinium editions I know, but what others? Because to my untrained eye, this looks to be a 996.2, and it can't be a 40th AE because it's not a silver coupe... Also really digging the aero, and I think the stripes are cool. Nathan

POST 45 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Its is a 996.2. The previous owner put the 911 badge on it. I have a new unopened black Carrera badge as well, but I like the 911.

POST 46Original post

Quotes source post: 13911777

I like it too. That's one of the nicest parts about owning a 996, collectibility is not a factor so you can do whatever the hell you want

POST 47 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I strongly believe in doing what makes you happy. It's your car, do what you want with it!

POST 48Original post

Quotes source post: 13911789

That's true, which is further reinforcing the idea that I will never get to own an aircooled 911. The values just keep getting sillier (was looking again today), and even assuming I could justify paying what they're asking I would be pissing away real money doing much in the way of personal touches.

POST 49Original post

Quotes source post: 13911789

Looks like I need to buy a new suspension, sport cats, mufflers, headers then.

POST 50 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Installed my LEDs in the side marker lamps. Also in the reading lights (dome light missing as it is on order). Also received my H&R Sport Springs. They should be installed tomorrow. A couple shots all tucked in for the night. Also installed my flasher relay so my turn signals work again!
