Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
30 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Just saw JZM's twitter feed has posted - "@JZMPorsche: VERY low mileage #Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0 for sale (lib pic). Call us tomorrow"
What time do we think it will be sold tomorrow? 10am?

Makes you woder how long it will be before these are sold by tender or auction to secure the best price......
Seriously - if someone were selling a RHD 4 litre with collector mileage they would already be mad to sell it other than at a big name auction...

I'm sorry but that would be a bad move. Would you want to give away 10% to an auction house? Sell it through a proper dealer and negotiate a sensible SOR figure. I'd say 10k max. Most dealers would want to sell a 4.0 right now and would be willing to do it for less. Any serious buyer will have registered their interest with dealers who have the right contacts to source the the kind of cars in question.
If you ask me auctions are more for genuine blue chip classics, not modern stuff. But each to their own. The main issue is the fees from auction houses.
Not sure I agree with you Jamie. You could always set a reserve. The problem a seller has at the moment, is that contrary to the PH massive, the likes of 4RS prices have not hit a ceiling. Every one that comes up is snapped up within the proverbial second. That suggests there is substantially more demand than supply, which means they are underpriced. A well publicised sale or two at auction would be very insightful.

Yep, LHD 5000ish kms...
LHD 5k km and £215k? you serious?! that's a bit of a shocker....I'm starting to see what people mean about the market on cars going generally bonkers. There were 3 cars in europe with sub 2k KM available at ~220k eur not so long ago...
There were three cars in Europe for under 200k euro just three-four weeks ago. Indeed, JZM sold their last 4ltr for just under £170k (albeit with 12k miles). It is a crazy market and I suspect we have some way yet before it nears its peak. With decent 360CS's at £150k+ and similar production numbers for them and 997 GT3RS I think we could see 997.2RS hit £150k soon.

Imagine if there is no bubble and prices continue out of control. £200k+ for a 3.8 RS and £400+ for a 4.0...
Are there any amongst you with experience of car bubbles and thoughts on this moment in time?
I'll have a wild guess of 18 months and then a collapse based on an election in 12 months and then some reasonable interest rate rises combined with a massively over inflated classic car market causing investors to jump to the next big thing.
I see a steady increasing demand and consequential continual rise in price for these cars as the 'beards' opt for what is essentially the last of a line (I.e. 'manuel' transmission and albeit restricted seat of yer pants driving) although prices will be governed to some extent by the final normally aspirated 991 (GT3 and RS)......
A much more sensible to do Is buy what you love and can afford, then whatever happens is immaterial. A lot of people are on here seem to put the value of their car above all else, is that sustainable?
How anyone on here feels they can predict what will happen is amusing to say the least. This market is totally unprecedented. You lot must be posting in between working on some highly complex financial algorithms.

Some of us do write algos but they weren't designed to model QE...
You made a pertinent point however:

The prices of cars such as RS models have gone beyond what some people can afford, and one of the things that previously made these cars attractive was that they were an 'affordable' high performance sports car compared to the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.

It feels like we are one year ago, Ferrari Challenge Stradale starts to get recognised as a classic due to its character, back then the RHD's had all but dissapeared, when they reappeared for sale they started at £120K, now the same car is £200K. It looks like the Gen 2 GT3RS will follow a similar pattern. I expect this because much as I love driving my Challenge Stradale, I've hardly driven it since I got a Gen 2 GT3RS.
