Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

has anyone replaced their headers with an after market? i know speedART, Supersprint and BillyBoat are selling headers for the Cayman...but i suspect speedART and Supersprint are Boxter headers and BillyBoat doesnt have a good reputation for HP gains.

The issue with headers is that the factory headers have the pre-cats at the end of them with an O2 sensor on either side, you either need a different cat here, or need to reprogram the ECU to not look for the sensors, neither of which come in the ones listed here.
Speedart's Power Kit II consists of headers, sport cats, a sport air filter and a sport exhaust/mufflerand reprograms the ecu. for predictable performance you are going to need to do a kit. as for actual hp gains...check their website and read through the forum, lots of posts on related topics. good luck...and let us know if you do it.
I had the opportunity to visit Billy Boat's shop and see & hear there test Cayman S... It was Amazing!!! Forget about what HP they made on other models, this is the real deal and the price is very competitive. Mine will be in soon. Just my 2 cents
GIAC tuning has been held up because of people on vacation at GIAC and a lack of availability of Garrett to do the tuning. Hopefully this will clear up soon.
yeah...i would love to know when GIAC gets the programming done for the ECU. Especially if it increases throttle response. Please post a thread with all the details when it gets done K-Man S.
I think headers, high flow cats, cat backand an ECU tweak are going to be the best bang for the buck for HP increases for us all. Im watching this closely.
K-Man S Being completely naive to which system is better for our Cayman, I am relying on this forum to help me out. This option, I hope is my next purchase and I am looking forward to your response on the milltek's
. What do you think of Borla
? I understand they will be coming out soon with a set that will fit our cars. Are they geared more for muscle cars and not the finely tuned German machines?
Trust me I will be reporting as much as I can as fast as I can, unfortunately I have a work trip coming up that looks like it might fall smack dab in the middle of when I wanted to get the exhaust and tuning work done.
Came across a domestic source for headers - don't know anything about them. Here is a picture and contact info. The headers with cats are $2795 and they are made in the USA.

Ordered a set from Neil this week - will install on the 28th with my short shifter. Not sure I can get to a dyno before or not, will try. Once I see how that works the Milltek cat back goes on. Thanks to K-Man for pointing me to Neil Orton - hell of a nice, informative guy.
Ok - got the headers and a Milltek catback. All were installed on Monday - great fit, the Porsche techs at Tischer Porsche did a great job. You should have seen the grins on their faces after the install. I will get on the dyno once my travel schedule permits. 'Butt dyno' says yeehha - sound is great, no resonance, power is definitely there. I have the Orton 100 cell cat header combo with Milltek catback.
kreggin,
How did you handle the 02 sensor issue? I thought the Fabspeed headers only had a spot for 1 02 sensor and you had to turn the other one off via an ECU flash, or is that not the case? Looking forward to video/audio clips, dyno charts, etc heck even just some pics would be nice! /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/pics.gifBring the car to Croctoberfest!
I have been having some trouble getting pictures to load on the site - will try again today. The Orton/FABSpeed headers have both bungs and came with nice little plugs treaded into them. Fit and finish is first rate. I have not done any ECU work yet. I live near Autothority and may give them a try ( have used them before with other cars). I drove my CS about 20 miles after the install and really, really like the improvment.
Go figure - worked perfectly this time. Photo's show the rear tips, the others are of the headers - 100 cell cats, the exhaust ports - which flare very nicely from the port to the tube, and the two bungs that K-Man asked about. Neil at Orton was also a delight to work with BTW.
JnJCayman, did you ever get the BB exhaust installed? If so, did you just do 'catback' or did you do headers as well? I hav e the exhaust on order and should receive it any day. Just curious about your experience. thanks
