I have just had my CDR23, Bose amp and CD changer removed and an Alpine x100 head unit put in (incuding bluetooth module) with a new Sony amp (need the extra amp to run the back speakers and use the head unit amp for the front speakers) all for £750 fitted.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Has anyone installed one of these in their 996? If so: a) Where did you run the iPod cable to (I'm guessing glove box) b) How well did it work with the CDR-32 (I'm guessing you don't get iPod text, but wondered how the navigation worked). I have an iPod video (30GB), which has 100s of playlists on it...so didn't want to keep having to fish out the iPod to: 1. Select a track 2. To see what I've selected If the M0bridge doesn't do CD-text on the CDR-32, is it possible to get any other sort of device that does? IIRC the M0bridge is about £200 and it costs about £150 to get it fitted at Ian Bannings? Cheers, GD

POST 2Original post

Hi GD, The mObridge is not compatible with the CDR-32 because the CDR-32 is not MOST (fibre optic) equipped. You will be able to integrate an iPod with the CDR-32 by using the Dension Ice Link. Also, the mObridge is £299 (non-Bluetooth) and £475 (Bluetooth) excluding fitting. Cheers -

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A-ha! It is of course a CDR-23!!! So same question, but with 23, not 32! Thanks.

POST 4Original post

Dension apparently do a Gateway 500 MOST kit that should work with CDR-23; http://www.dension.com/icelinkgateway500.php I have '04 C4S with CDR-23, and have just this week had Alpine CDA-9887R installed for full iPod control, along with the bluetooth module for handsfree. Of course, Also needed new amp and cabling too....... ££££ ..... but it sounds fantastic now!

POST 5Original post

They do indeed......and there just happens to be one in the for sale section  . Until last week it was happily connected to my 03 MOST CDR-23 - limited access from the headunit but could use a certain number of playlists and the usual back/forward etc.

POST 6Original post

I have just had my CDR23, Bose amp and CD changer removed and an Alpine x100 head unit put in (incuding bluetooth module) with a new Sony amp (need the extra amp to run the back speakers and use the head unit amp for the front speakers) all for £750 fitted. Sounds pucker and gives me the phone and full iPod compatibility I craved....i now look even more forward to driving. Anyone wanty to buy my CDR3 head unit, CD changer and Bose amp let me know.
