Has anyone seen or done any kind of interior treatment to cover the space between the seats in a CS that right now is just carpet? I could imagine either an aluminum, carbon fiber, or color-matched leather panel created with a Porsche emblem on it similar to what they do on the Corvettes but a little less in your face.
Send your suggestion to Eric at Bumperplugs.com (site sponsor). This seems right up their alley.
Great idea. I just sent him an email. We will see what happens. That is the one part of the interior that Porsche seems to mave 'missed'.
Remember behind that carpet is an acess panel to change the engine belt and other things.
The panel could be a s simple as velcro attachments holding it to the carpet for easy removal.
Have you seen my painted piece between the seats? Check the article for what BumperPlugs can do in this regard.
No, I have not seen it. I will search for it. Thanks
I want a glass top there so I can see the engine.

That looks good but I was talking the lower space between the seats that is now just carpet. Imagine a piece the comes down between the seat with the Porsche crest on it.
Can someone get a closeup shot of that section on the Cayman? Is that piece removable?
Eric,
It is just carpet between the upper piece where the retaining rail is that you guys painted speed yellow for me and the top lid of the center console. Someone would have to form a plastic piece to connect the two and then find a way to attach it to the carpet (Velcro probably), then have them painted, put a crest on, etc. There isn't anything there for you to paint until someone designs a plastic piece to go between the seats.
What in the world is wrong with the carpet?? Carpet is nice. Everyone likes carpet. Leave the poor car alone.
K-man S is dead on. It would be pretty easy to do and take a very plain but visible interior are and make it really pop!
I think the idea of a clear platic cover so we could see the engine would be awesome.
I don't know about you, but I am a clean car nut. Can you imagine trying to keep such a thing satisfactorily clean. Nice idea for Porsche for an auto show, but in real world driving it would quickly become an eye-sore.
I agree. I think it looks great as is.
The carpet is too plain for my tastes and they are really missing something that could be a great style element if done tastfully. I am going to have a piece madefor that space in the next few weeks. I never heard back from bumperplugs. l will post pics when I do it.
