Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'd like to change the radio headunit which is tape, for a CD one.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'd like to introduce myself as Matt, from Birmingham, West Midlands. Just bought a 996 Turbo X50 from member elrao which I saw in Pistonheads.
I had a Bmw M3 then saved up for a brand new M5, had it 3 weeks and it was stolen
waited for my
insurance
payout and thought i'd treat myself to a car i've always wanted, a twin turbo 911
A regular visit to the Nurburgring, I can't wait to take it there in 3 weeks time to test it out 8)
Here are some pics:
A few things.
On start-up there is a tiny bit of blue smoke. Also after a decent rape, the next start up produces a big cloud of blue smoke. I hope this is nothing to worry about. :?
I'd like to change the radio headunit which is tape, for a CD one. is it just plug and play or more complex wiring envolved?
thanks in advance for your help, I'll be posting a lot more on this forum now I have my new baby :food:
Welcome matt,
Same as mine, same colour as well, your gonna love it. Just recently come back from the ring, very impressed with it. Let us know how you get on with it.
The smoke thing has happened to me a few times also, I've done a search on the net and it appears quite common. No problems with mine afterwards anyhow
Regards,
Neil
P.S. And my last car was an M3, I still miss that sometimes...
:worship: V. Nice !
:welcome:
To 911uk Matt.
She looks very nice.. How does she compare to the M5 and M3 ?
Were off to the 'Ring next friday, be nice to have you along on the next one should you not be able to make this one.
CD wise Dave (who is away for the weekend) has just fitted a double din (Kenwood I think) Sat Nav/I-Pod/DVD unit in his 996 TT, he should be back Tue and I am sure will give you the full run down.
Love the grey dials -
Dan
Oh good, I was worried it could be something costly. Could this be a warranty issue or will they just laugh at me?
A different kind of acceleration mate, porsche feels so much quicker than the M5. Only had it 2 days so not really tested it properly 8)
I'm there on the 6th sept whenever that is. :?
yeah I had a double din in my M3, awesome sound. I think I want to stick with original but with a cd hole instead of tape
is that an extra/aftermarket thing?
Hey doc matt, i have just bought a 996 tt x50 as well

Hey Matt,
I'm going to be there the weekend of the 6th so maybe we can arrange to meet up at some point. Would love to get a pax lap in the 996TT and see how it compares to my 993TT.
Cheers,
Nik
