This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2002 Boxster S with IMS failure, engine still in car, transaxle out to inspect motor . The battery was unhooked at the dealer when the car was looked over for the previous owner. Now that I have the car home I would like to hook up the battery so I can roll up/down windows and check out things a bit. The only wiring I can see not hooked up is the speedo sensor. You folks think it's safe to hook it up for a bit? (obviously not turn over the starter).

Sure, why not ? if the crankshaft doesn't turn, how can more damage occur ?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hooked it back up and had to charge it ...sat for 6 mo since the big sneeze. Alarm started off feebily, and gradually waking it up. Found the owners manual so that's a big help. A guy is really toast without juice in these cars, can't open anything w/o it. 103,000 km on it.
