Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'switch in the gearbox' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'switch in the gearbox' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuses b5 and b10' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
As suggested, it might be the reversing light switch, or you should check fuses B5 and B10.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just recently parking sensors are not working, yesterday spotted that reversing lights do not come on. Been told that they are not related but seems odd both failed around same time.
Sensors not too worried about as covered under warranty, but both reversing lights am as most electrics are not warranty. Any ideas of what could cause this (aoart from both bulbs going)?
The Park Assistant control unit gets its 'on' signal from the reversing lights, so it's no coincidence that they happened at the same time. As suggested, it might be the reversing light switch, or you should check fuses B5 and B10.
dammit! reverse light not working so no parking sensor instl
Hi Guys
Today I had a nice gentleman visit me to install parking sensors on my vehicle. We got as far as feeding the sounder into the car from the back, and adjoining some wires to the reverse light --
When I then went to put the car in reverse no lights were coming on. Now we didnt check to see if the reverse lights were coming on in the first place, however I can 100% remember on Thursday night just few days ago when my car was Valet parked that the guy was trying to squeeze out and around that I constantly saw the reverse coming on when he was reversing
The fuse has been checked and it is fine
1) The gearbox switch gone ? (reading another thread)
2) Something went short when doing the wiring?
If it is the first how hard will it be to fix and how much will it cost! ?
Your help is much appreciated
