Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just remember going with a PCM2 means MOST so a little more difficult/expensive to replace with an Alpine/Pioneer or Kenwood later.

PCM1 is very old , but I think you can use newer maps from other maufacturers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok I am toying with selling my C2 and buying a Targa! Depends on the amount my C2 fetches ... eeeek! A high spec is what I am looking for in the Targa!! Obviously I guess! Do I go for a PCM2? I've heard different stories about them! Or retro fit the Alpine/Kenwood! So highly thought of? Oh dear its a nightmare!

POST 2Original post

Sorry I can't see anything as I'm blinded by that Tiptronic monstrosity Just remember going with a PCM2 means MOST so a little more difficult/expensive to replace with an Alpine/Pioneer or Kenwood later.

POST 3Original post

PCM2 is OK to use but maps are getting old (mine is 2004). PCM1 is very old , but I think you can use newer maps from other maufacturers. PCM2 is well integrated with the rest of the car (computer, sound, telephone etc). I was after the OEM look so PSM2 was a must for me. I'd say that PSE is a must, and to factor that in if not fitted. PCM2 probably still helps resale. However a well integrated double din after market is probably as good. Depends if you have someone you can trust to do it for you.
