Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey, Does anyone know the relationship between the tire type/manufacturer and road noise in the cabin when driving? I've noticed that some drive quieter than others and have been suggested that it's likely down to the tires. Anyone knows anything about this?

POST 2Original post

Other than tyres can make a big difference ..no. Perhaps check out a few of the tyre review sites as they give a noise rating generally... edit Try here http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-PS2.htm or here http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/total_tyre_guide/213162/noise.html

POST 3Original post

I've always understood that softer/more grippy tyres are quieter than harder ones. That said, some comfort oriented tyres have special 'quiet' tread designs. I certainly find new tyres quieter than old, more worn ones.

POST 4Original post
