Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've just replaced the ignition switch on my C2 (Audi part not Porsche). I learnt a couple of things when doing this 1. Its a bastard of a job (it appears to be the original switch) 2. 65 year olds are not as flexible as they used to be. Alan

POST 2Original post

Most jobs on these cars are! Also things don't get any better in regard to your point 2. I speak from experience here! However it's worth it in the end, these are great driving machines.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The only thing I found that gets better with age is....... price of car insurance .

POST 4Original post

It's actually a job i quite enjoy doing .. you have a few years on me but not too many I watched younger mechanics than myself craw under the dash to replace these .. i prefer the easy way sitting in the seat ! http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=138859&highlight= Irrespective though .. it's not an easy job so a pat on the back for saving yourself at least £150 labour in my neck of the woods anyways .

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Mort us old school engineers will attempt anything.

POST 6Original post

I had to do it with a popped rib head. Horrendous.

POST 7Original post

After doing mine the first time, I replaced the miserable little grub screws with a couple of cap screws that I ground a tip onto. I can now remove them with my finger tips rather than trying to get a screwdriver in there.
