Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've had a set of 19" wheels (9/11") I fitted 235 front 295 rear.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I'm looking for some advice as I've just had a set of Michelin PS4S fitted and the stretch looks horrific!
Shortish version of a long story.. I've bought a set of 19s for my 2003 C4 in 8.5in and 11in which I've had wrapped in 235/35 & 285/30 to keep the ratios within the correct 2.5 percent for the 4WD system.
According to every page I find on tyres sizes, 285 & 295 are the perfect section for 11in but these just look too stretched and nothing like the fronts do.
I wouldn't have thought they'd be stretched at all
Has anyone had this before?
Tia
Have you got any photos?

Can only think the 285 on an 11" rim might be on the top parameter hence the stretch?

Yeah 285/30's on my 10.5J rear is absolutely fine, I'll be fitting 295/30's on my new 11J rears, although it doesn't sound much perhaps the slightly bigger size tyre would make all the difference :?:
They don't look to bad tbh, obviously not a square wall but least you have some clearance to the arch, they should be perfectly fine.
295 has slightly less stretch from experience 👌
Your rear tyres are 50mm wider than the fronts. Your rear wheels are 63.5mm wider than the fronts. I guess this makes all the difference.
While 19" wheels aren't my thing, I do respect and admire the fact that you've appreciated the importance of keeping the f/r rolling radius within tolerance. Fortunately this is a problem that can be solved!
Thanks Griffter,
Just saw your reply after posting.
Yes that's correct. I based it on other's experience, tyre manufacturers info and also online calculators to get these sizes for these rims but it should all be within tolerance.
I went to the 19s for aesthetics and tyre choice but I reckon it's important to keep that tolerance as Porsche know plenty more than I do! 😂
When you say this can be resolved are you talking about a 2wd conversion?
Well that would be one option! Not necessarily, I just meant we understand the problem and there are solutions. 18"s for example, or potentially 295s as you say. You'll also get different stretch and sidewall profiles with different types of tyre but it's not really practical to try them out - it's not like trying on clothes!
Sounds like 295s is the best way forward. If it blows the transfer box, you know what to do
