Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

A good way to test slippage/clutch is to put it in 5-6 gear and try to take off, if it tries to move and or stalls its not slipping, Its not perfect but a good indicator.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi, Went to drive to dinner tonight and clutch pedal felt a little lighter than usual and friction point was high pulling out of the garage. I started driving and it got worse so I turned around. Clutch slipped some under power in 1st gear when I turned around but then didn't slip again going back home. Friction point is high and goes from lots of slip to grabbing completely without much travel like a worn clutch disk. Can the clutch wear that quickly? Does this sound like a hydraulic master cylinder issue or throwout bearing issue? Fluid was bled 18 months ago so I do not think that bleeding it will fix it and I just drove the car a week ago and it was fine. Wondering whether this sounds like regular clutch job or primary or slave master cylinder .

POST 2Original post

Typically with a slave issue you'll have a sticky pedal or some weird travel in the pedal. The master isn't as easy to diagnose, unless its leaking and or you test it to see if its bleeding past the seal out of the car. A good way to test slippage/clutch is to put it in 5-6 gear and try to take off, if it tries to move and or stalls its not slipping, Its not perfect but a good indicator.
